Laura has been at Southeast Venture for 30 years. Prior to Southeast Venture, she worked as a staff accountant and standard cost accountant at Koch Industries and at a small gas drilling company. Laura tries to stay abreast of any tax law changes that would affect investors or owners and works closely with outside accounting and engineering firms to help the process for Cost Segregation studies and any other report that will result in tax savings.
Laura currently oversees all accounting for this multi-million dollar, multi-divisional company that offers real estate, design, and development services. She also oversees all personnel duties, general liability insurance administration, and 401(k) administration. In addition, she has set up over 20 entities for development ventures and their related managers and investing companies.
Within Southeast Venture, her team maintains hundreds of job cost records for the Design Services division. She and her team have also been responsible for the accounting for over 85 property management buildings and associations, both local and out-of-state. Clients have included Fidelity Mutual, Lincoln National, and Northwestern Mutual.
During her tenure, she has overseen three accounting software conversions, plus a conversion to a paperless accounts payable system. At one time, Laura was responsible for reporting to over 3,000 investors country-wide for three different land syndications and filed quarterly audited reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
