Information

Southeast Venture Design is acting as the Consultant Architect to Johnson Architecture Inc. to provide design services for this 180 unit affordable housing project for KCDC and Partners Development. This project is part of a multi-phase development led by Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation that will include over 400 affordable, workforce and market rate housing as well as the replacement of the affordable units that were previously located on this site. Phase 1B will include LIHTC tax credits administered through THDA and Project Based Vouchers through HUD. Located east of downtown and Old City, this phase includes five total buildings on 6 acres that front East Summit Hill Drive, Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Harriet Tubman St. and the new Austin Homes Boulevard. The two buildings along E Summit Hill Drive and MLK Jr. Ave are 3/4-story split buildings consisting of 134 total units with a mix of one, two and three bedrooms. Amenities within these buildings include a leasing lounge, fitness center, mail / package room, laundry room, and bike storage room. The three buildings along Austin Homes Boulevard step down in scale and include one 3-story building with 36 units and two 2-story townhome buildings with 10 total units, also with a mix of one, two and three bedroom units. The entire development is surface parked and the site lends itself to generous green space shared amongst the buildings.
